Volunteer Work Party Weekends

Volunteer Work Party Weekends are a great way to help serve at camp. We offer Fall and Spring Work Parties for volunteers to help clean up camp and get it ready for the following season.

Accommodations and food are provided with prior notice. Kids are welcome with a responsible adult supervision.

  • Saturday October 26, 2024 from 10-5pm & Sunday October 27, 2024 from 10-2pm.

Folks are welcome to spend the night in one of our cabins if they like as we will provide free lodging and meals for all those who are in attendance. We'll have plenty of coffee and have a warm fire going. There will be both indoor and outdoor projects and everyone is welcome young and old!

Volunteers should plan to bring warm clothes (that you don't mind getting dirty), work gloves and good sturdy boots. If you plan to spend the night in a cabin please call ahead so that we can reserve space for you. Bring a warm sleeping bag, blankets, pillow, and toiletries. We will be providing the following meals: Saturday Lunch and Dinner and Sunday Breakfast. All volunteers will be required to sign in and sign a waiver. Kids are welcome with a responsible adult.

Some of the projects we have lined up are:

    • Cleaning of the lodge.

    • Cleaning of the cabins.

    • Tending burn piles.

    • Clearing storm debris from the camp trails.

    • Closing down the waterfront and archery range for the winter season.

    • Painting projects.

    • Cutting, splitting and stacking firewood.

    • Gardening projects.

    • Eating of s'mores.

    • And much more!

We ask that you please RSVP so we can plan on food and accommodations. If you would like more information or to RSVP contact Tim McElravy, Camp Director at tmcelravy@lwycamp.org or at 509. 763.9622.

  • Work party is April 13, 2024 (10am-4pm) and April 14, 2024 10am-2pm

We will provide free lodging and meals for all those who are in attendance. This is a great way to come get some hands on work and enjoy fellowship here at camp.

We need folks who can (safely) run a saw and help pile up brush as we continue to Firewise the property, spread wood chips and maybe even run a wood splitter.
