  • Working at camp is an incredibly rewarding and valuable experience. We know that kids need camp more now than perhaps ever before which is why our camp needs YOU! You are courageous and have a heart to serve. You are a customer service zealot with an eye for detail, yet you are flexible, adaptable and lead by example. You are a role model who loves working with kids and upholds values we stand for. You enjoy hiking, camping, cooking over a fire and roughing it in the outdoors. You don’t mind the insects or rodents and can survive without a shower every day. You are most comfortable working as a part of a team and have the desire to pitch in wherever needed and stay positive when times get tough.

    We want you to join our team of all stars as we endeavor to leave a lasting positive impact in the lives of the families we serve. Our summer will last 7.5 weeks (June 18-August 10) including 10 days staff training followed by 6 weeks of summer overnight camp that will bring joy to hundreds of children and leave you with memories to last a lifetime!

What We Believe

We believe in the transformative power of camp - Simply put, Camp changes lives.  Campers and staff develop lifelong friendships and memories here every summer.

We believe that the normal is absurd and that the absurd is normal - Some may look at our camp traditions as absurd.  Turn on the news and you see examples of how the world treats each other.  We think that is absurd!  At camp it is normal to treat each other with love, respect, caring, honesty and responsibility...and, to sing songs with a mouth full of marshmallows.  Camp is an example of how the world could/should be...and we're proud of this!

We believe that everyone belongs at Y-Camp - Every person has value and deserves to be loved and accepted for who they are.  We often describe ourselves as a "camp family" as there is a bond formed here that is unique. The fact that we get to be on this lake, with these people, is what sets Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp apart

Cabin Leaders: - 14 positions available - Part rock star, part super hero, you’re a youth development professional who cares about kids, loves the outdoors and is adored by campers!

Multi-Media Specialist: - 1 position available- Part rock star, part super hero, you’re a youth development professional who cares about kids, loves the outdoors and is adored by campers!

Lifeguards: - 1 position available- Lifeguard Certification, excellent leadership skills and swimming ability are required. Keep lives safe this summer and look cool with zinc on your nose!

Arts & Crafts Specialist: - POSITION FILLED FOR 2024 - Glitter! Friendship Bracelets! Tie Die! Paint and Glue! You’ll have so much fun and the kids will too!

Program Specialist: - 1 position available - Archery, Low ropes, GA GA, theme day planning, group games leaders extraordinaire!

Trip Program Coordinator: - 1 position available- 21+, WFR/WFA, excellent leadership and planning skills, outdoor living/camping experience a must! You may inspire the next Bear Grylls!

Teen Program Coordinator: - POSITION FILLED FOR 2024 - 21+, excellent leadership skills a must! You’ll be developing leadership skills in our future camp counselors in training! #Coolestpersonatcampandnotafraidtoshowit!

Maintenance Assistants: 2 positions available - Be the star of Dirty Jobs, Camp Edition! You’ll be our very own Scotty (Star Trek) or Bob Vila (This Old House). From grounds keeping to fixing the things we break and cleaning things we get dirty you keep camp looking fabulous!

Head Cook: - POSITION FILLED FOR 2024- Everyone at camp loves the cooks! Feed the masses while earning your black belt in pancakes this summer!

Assistant Cook: 2 positions available - Everyone at camp loves the cooks! Feed the masses while earning your black belt in pancakes this summer!

Kitchen Assistants: 2 positions available - Food Prep, dishwashing, bacon stretching and the best part…cookie testing!

Inclusion Specialist: 1 position available - 21+ You have a way with people. You handle sensitive situations with empathy, understanding and care. Your skill set allows you to support the mental health and well-being of our staff and campers in a non-clinical setting. You enjoy supporting adults and youth in various capacities and it brings you fulfillment to play a part in their overall well-being.

Assistant Summer Camp Director: POSITION FILLED FOR 2024 - 21+ You are a jack of all trades and a master of fun! You are organized and flexible, creative with an attention to detail. You maintain high standards and possess excellent leadership, communication, planning and supervision skills. You are an experienced Camp Leader eager to help campers and staff succeed!
