On October 27th 2008 a fire was discovered in the Lodge Basement. Below are pictures of the Lodge since the fire and during the remodel. The Larry Handy Lodge is scheduled to re-open in April 2009.

Fire Crews from Chelan County Fire Districts 9 (Lake Wenatchee) and 3 (Leavenworth) responded to a fire in the Lodge basement at approx 8:20am on 10.27.08.

The fire started in the basement and burned through the main floor. There was extensive fire damage to the basement and girls bathroom as well as causing heavy smoke and water damage throughout the building.

This Picture taken in Mid January 2009, shows the repair made to the main floor. Later the hardwood maple flooring will be installed.

This picture shows the Lodge basement in early February 2009. Both bathrooms were heavily damaged in the fire and are being remodeled.
