Tayor-Neel Cabin

Frank Vedder Taylor Jr. Was a long time supporter of the Wenatchee YMCA and Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp.  He was a kind and generous person whose leadership was instrumental to the expansion of the YMCA and the Development of camp.  During the 1950’s he served on the YMCA Board of Directors and was Board President in 1956 and 1957.  As board president he was responsible for guiding the Board through preliminary expansion plans, developing an executive committee and overseeing the ongoing development of the camp, including the lodge.  He was a true ambassador for YMCA as well, also earning honors as the top enroller of new members during membership campaigns.

Frank Taylor Jr.’s gifts to the YMCA were many, and sometimes anonymous.  He and his wife donated all the furniture and appliances to the YMCA from their summer home upon it’s sale and he was a frequent donor to the camp building fund.  Along with his father, Frank V. Taylor Sr. (Board President in the 1930’s) and Don Taylor, Frank Taylor funded one of the first permanent cabins on camp, Taylor Cabin, which was completed in 1958.  A renovation of the Taylor-Neel Cabin was funded by his grandson, Mark Neel, in 2005.
